Manager: Corporate Actions & Replications (Talent Pooling)

Purpose

Manage and review and interpret depository bulletins, company circulars/sens, or other documentation to ensure appropriate dates, rates, and details are included on the notice and to manage and review the daily transactions processed.

Minimum Experience

3 - 5 years experience in a similar environment, of which 1 - 2 years at junior management level

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas [NQF Level 07] in Finance Economics and Accounting

Additional Minimum Qualifications

A proven track record as a Corporate Actions professional and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Solid knowledge of HiPort, CARD, and Bloomberg required.

Process

  • Accountable for maintaining quality, service and outputs related to a work area, ensuring compliance with set policy, procedures and standards.
  • Proactively identify operational problems, determine cause and effect, select and implement the best solution to solve problems based on previous experience and understanding of the context.
  • Plan for and organise multiple work activities for team execution by assigning priorities against the set framework in light of the specific situational context.
  • Manage and assist the team with on-the-job training and with assistance in dealing with internal and external queries as well as new project initiatives and system improvements.
  • Ensure that necessary checks that the following are processed accurately and completely incl Interest; maturities and rate resets, local and foreign dividends and events that have gone in the market.
  • Ensure that proxies have been loaded accurately and completely in the system for voting.
  • Ensurie that proxy and elective event automated swift messages or instructions are sent to custodians timeously.
  • Manage and ensure that all AMH swift exceptions have been cleared daily.
  • Ensuring that the Corporate Actions Automated system tool is running smoothly on a daily basis.
  • Check that the SARS withholding tax file has been submitted every month after the checks have been completed by the relevant teams.
  • Manage that any Corporate Action changes in legislation have been raised as a project and drive the testing and implementation thereof within set timeframes.
  • Ensure that the team’s work is completed within daily deadlines, and assist with ad-hoc projects.
  • Check the reconciliations on a daily basis, and ensure that the team investigates and process reconciliation breaks timeously
  • Monitor that all clients’ queries are attended to and that transparent communication is maintained by the team.
  • Completing the Corporate Actions Exco Report on a monthly basis and making sure that administration is kept up to date.
  • Represent STANLIB at ASISA and other industry forums

Customer

  • Manages to ensure service excellence in support of Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principles to build positive relationships and creates opportunities for exceptional service delivery.

Finance

  • Compile a budget aligned to the operational or area specific delivery of plans; monitor and report on variances and make sure that planned objectives are reported, escalating any deviations.

  • Schedule, allocate and effectively manage human resources within own area of responsibility in line with specified and specific constraints or parameters.

Governance

  • Implement and utilise risk, governance and compliance policies and processes effectively, to identify and manage risk exposure.
