Purpose

Offer specialist advice and execute daily pricing, assist Fund Accountants with daily work, and special pricing projects, and assist the financial and regulatory reporting team to execute processes in order to adhere to industry standards.

Minimum Experience

3 - 5 years experience in a similar environment, of which 1 -2 years at a junior specialist level

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas [NQF Level 07] in Finance Economics and Accounting

Additional Minimum Qualifications

B. Com Honors in Accounting an advantagePractical experience in Fund Accounting or Investment Administration is an advantage.
Experienced user of HiPort & P Control (a plus)
Finance or an Audit background would be an advantage.

Outputs

Process

  • Accountable for the improvement of quality, service and work outputs, continuously recommending improvements.
  • Plan for the organisation of work outputs and process improvement activities in light of a specific situational context related to the area of specialisation.
  • Proactively identify area of specialisation related problems, determine cause and effect and recommend the best option to implement corrective action based on previous experience.
  • Operational risk management - ensure effective incident management process as well as proactive identification and mitigation of risks
  • Eliminate incorrect NAV calculation by ensuring all daily transactions are accurately processed in the Investment Administration system and the pricing system.
  • Avoid processing errors, by reviewing the daily Funds accounting packs prepared by the Fund Accountants.
  • Deliver accurate NAV prices to the market by the required deadline.
  • Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly and annual regulatory reporting.
  • Assist in the launching of new Funds, classes, and transitions.
  • Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly distribution of Funds
  • assist Fund Accountants in executing and training on daily tasks
  • Assist the Financial and Regulatory reporting team with any tasks allocated (such as drafting Annual Financial Statements, and preparation of Quarterly Reporting)
