Lead Specialist: Facilities Services Asset Preservation

Purpose

To provide specialist advise in area of specialisation and implement the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology on the Asset Preservation and maintenance of head office, regional and branch offices around the country.

Minimum Experience

5 - 8 years experience in a similar environment, of which 2 - 3 years at specialist level

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas [NQF Level 08] in Engineering and Related Design

Additional Minimum Qualifications

Engineering diploma with maintenance experience and be suitably qualified to act as GMR2 in terms of the OHS Act 85 of 1993

Process

  • Accountable for contributing to strategy enablement and implementation and delivery optimisation across an internal value chain, through best practice development and implementation.
  • Draw on own technical and/or professional knowledge and experience to proactively develop alternatives and identify optimal best practice solutions for tactical problems.
  • Plan to deliver work outputs related to a service or operational area, Manages interdependent functional activities, and directs best-practice priorities, standards and procedures to ensure efficiency within area of specialisation.
  • Develop and implement asset preservation (technical and non-technical) master schedules according to industry standards that address business requirements within an agreed timeframe.
  • Lead asset preservation and maintenance knowledge in the execution of projects ensure the development of action plans.
  • Provide Asset Preservation support and ensure the effective installation, maintenance and repair of technical and non-technical infrastructure and components.
  • Provide Asset Preservation support services to maintain and enhance CI system stability and uptime ensuring that business continues with minimal interruptions.

Customer

  • Maintain and build relationships for purposes of expectation management, knowledge sharing and integration.
  • Provide authoritative, specialist expertise and advice to internal/external customers, that builds strong relationships and creates a favourable impression aligned to Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principles.

Finance

  • Implement and monitor financial controls, management of costs and corporate governance throughout the area of specialisation.

Learning and Growth

  • Contribute positively to human capability improvement, related to knowledge optimisation and associated with area of specialisation.
  • Manage internal and external Asset Preservation teams within the context of defined processes, FM Playbook, set required performance parameters and act as coach where required.

Governance

  • Develop and/or align governance and compliance policies for own practice and/or tactical area to identify and manage risk exposure liability related to the area of specialisation.
