Snr Specialist: Personnel Security

Purpose

Responsible for managing the security contracts to ensure that locations are secure. Oversee the incident processes and ensure that the relevant reports are completed Manages the execution of the travel security policy.

Minimum Experience

3 - 5 years experience in a similar environment, of which 1 -2 years at a junior specialist level

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas [NQF Level 07] in Generic Management

Process

  • Communicate benefits, risks and innovations in area of specialisation.
  • Provide specialist advice and support in area of accountability to ensure that identified solutions and recommendations are appropriate and effective.
  • Provide specialist advise and support to safeguard information systems and associated assets through the identification and management of security risks.
  • Identify, diagnose and recommend improvements and provide specialist advice and support; ensuring that solutions are appropriate and effective.
  • Use practical knowledge and theoretical guidelines, to diagnose area of specialisation problems and generate workable solutions.
  • Conduct special studies and prepare recommendations for policy amendments, procedure, control or actioning purposes.
  • Research, advise on and recommend qualified vendors that adhere to identified organisational requirements and standards.
  • Contribute to efforts related to the development of innovative business models to support the development of new business initiatives.
  • Develop and assist with the implementation of capacity plans in line with delivery and performance objectives; in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement and advise on the accurate preparation of budgets, ensuring monitoring of performance against actual outcomes.
  • Perform security audits and clean-ups to ensure accurate and up to date access within the organisation.
  • Review the effectiveness of operational org. performance processes and procedures and make improvement recommendations.
  • Investigate, analyse and identify performance enhancement initiatives to increase performance and decrease costs.
  • Coordinate project planning activities through the preparation of resource scheduling, physical planning, monitoring and control of project design.
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.
  • Advise on the implementation and development of personnel security policies, methodologies and systems to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
  • Accountable for the improvement of quality, service and work outputs, continuously recommending improvements.
  • Plan for the organisation of work outputs and process improvement activities in light of a specific situational context related to the area of specialisation.
  • Proactively identify area of specialisation related problems, determine cause and effect and recommend the best option to implement corrective action based on previous experience.

  • Provide specialist expertise and advice to internal/external customers, that builds strong relationships and creates a favourable impression aligned to Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principles.

  • Adhere to financial controls, governance and compliance policies and processes throughout an area of specialisation, contributing to cost efficiency.
